Welcome to TheCrazyLife! My name is Olivia, and that handsome man up there laughing with me is my wonderful husband, Drew. Many of you reading this know both of us well, as this blog started as a way to keep our family and friends back in the states updated on our CRAZY South Korean life. However, I do know I also have some readers who don't know me, or either one of us for that matter! So for those of you that fall into that category, I want to tell you WHO I am.
First, I am a daughter to my amazing parents. They have always been there for me throughout my entire life. They have always been supportive, but never been afraid to burst my bubble when I am making a mistake. They have somehow managed to put up with me for 23 years and not give me up for adoption or just "accidentally" leave me somewhere.

I am a sister. I am the oldest child, and I act like it. I was only the only child for 16 months before my sister, Isabel, showed up, but I kind of held on to that role. Only Child. You know all of those things you read about the oldest sibling? Yeah those describe me spot on. I also have a (not so little anymore) brother, Liam. I was four and a half when he was born, and I still remember thinking he was the coolest, cutest thing ever. A BABY! (Those feelings have basically not changed at all over time. About him OR babies.) My brother and sister are my best friends. I miss them both so much. We try to talk everyday, but it's definitely not the same as being in the same state, or house!
I am a wife to the second greatest man I've met in my life. (First is my dad, of course.) Drew and I met my freshman year of college at Ball State University, in Muncie, IN. We had mutual friends and both frequented the same frat house. HA unfortunately that is the truth and we don't have some crazy romantic story to tell the grandchildren some day!! We were good friends for a couple of years and then realized we were both IN LOVE with each other and there was no point in hiding it anymore. Drew enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2013 and that was the start to this crazy life I now live. (Okay, okay... It was crazy before that.) He went through BMT and 6 months of tech school, and then we wound up in South Korea at Osan Air Base. Oh... we got married somewhere in there too. On Monday, December 30, 2013. YES! A Monday! Drew came home from tech school for Christmas, and we were able to have a beautiful ceremony and dinner with our closest family and friends. (I planned a whole wedding in 3 weeks, I deserve some type of award.) We just moved to our second duty station, Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, and we are now planning our wedding reception! Drew is a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst for the Air Force and does a whole lot I can't know about. He works very hard at his job and was basically born for it. He's great at what he does and he loves it. I am so proud of all that he does for our family and country.
I am a mom. No, not to a child; to my fur babies, Rooney and Hoosier. Rooney is a 3 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. He thinks he's a lapdog/human crossbreed, so don't tell him he weighs 65 pounds of solid muscle. He is the goofiest, smartest, most annoying dog in the world, but I love him more than anything. As cheesy and cliché as it sounds, he is my best friend. I never thought it was possible to love a DOG so much until I got Rooney! He's so perfect. Hoosier is the most recent addition to our little family. He is a Korean Jindo puppy that our friends found abandoned, with his three sisters, on the side of the road. The night they found them, we went to go meet them. It took Drew and me less than 10 minutes to know we weren't leaving without the 5 pound fluff ball. He's quickly adjusted to being a Shavlik. He has actually been a great puppy and surprisingly easy to deal with! He is loving his new American home and we are loving him!
I am a teacher. I graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I was a homeschool teacher and nanny in Korea, and now I am looking for some sort of teaching or child care job in Virginia. Even if I never have another real teaching job, I will always be a teacher at heart.
I am a creator. I have always been creative. I have always loved crafting and doing something. I can't sit still. I can't relax. I need a constant project. Whether it's painting a canvas, scrapbooking, decorating, sewing, trying out the latest Pinterest craze, baking, decorating cupcakes, cooking... I always have something going on. I absolutely love anything DIY. I am more than loving the process of buying and decorating our first home in Virginia! It's a Pinterest DREAM!
I am an animal lover. Given the opportunity, I would have at least five dogs. (Unfortunately, Drew doesn't feel the same way.) I get attached to things easily; mainly animals. I am obsessed with babies and anything miniature. I'm a pitbull. I'll bite on to an idea, and never let go. I love cooking and I'm always trying to find new recipes to make. I'm obsessive, but I prefer to call it tenacious. I love clothes but I hate shopping. I love wearing dresses, heels, and too much makeup, but you'll most often find me in yoga pants and a sweatshirt, without any makeup at all. I hate cleaning, but I also hate living in a messy home, so therefore I clean. I am lazy, but I love to work out. I'm shy, but I'll pretend to be outgoing just to make things less awkward. I'm a lover but a fighter. I'm independent, but I hate to be alone.
I am a walking, talking, living, breathing, oxymoron.
I am living this CrazyLife, and loving every minute of it.
