Yesterday, we got the opportunity to go on a trip to Daejeon city in central Korea. Our realtor planned a trip with all of the "realty family". Originally we weren't going to go, but our realtor, Sissy, called us the night before and basically told us we HAD to go!! We are SO glad that we did!
We met up with the whole "family" at 8:30 am to load onto the bus. The ride to Daejeon was 2 hours. We talked and slept until we were finally there.

Once we got to the mountain, we walked up a big hill and then loaded into a cable car to take us up 1/3 of the mountain. We could have walked, BUT our group decided to take the cable car. (I certainly wasn't complaining.)
Once out of the cable car, we started our hike up the mountain. This was not a normal hike. This was climbing rocks straight up, all the way to the top.

It didn't take us as long as we thought it would to get to the top of the mountain. AND to top that off, I didn't complain once. (If you have ever done anything with me that involves sweating, you know this is impressive!) I actually beat Drew to the top, but he will tell you that it's because he was carrying our backpack haha. It was such an amazing feeling to be up so high. Mt. Daedun is 880 meters high. If only South Korea weren't so smoggy, we could have seen for MILES AND MILES.
After drinking Makgeolli and eating kimchi and pork, we headed back down the mountain.
At the bottom of the mountain, we all went to a restaurant for some HARD CORE KOREAN FOOD... no Seoul Garden nonsense here. So hard core Korean that we ate basically nothing. If we were forced to eat this food every day, we would be anorexic-ally thin in no time!!
We ate the rice, the soup, and the kids meals from the table next to us hahaha.
After lunch, we loaded back onto the bus and headed down the road a bit to go ZIPLINING! We got to go on two courses. The first one was about a 20 second ride. It was so scary being up at the top and watching everyone go. The ride down was scary, but very fun!

The second zipline was a 40 second ride and is supposedly the longest one in the world. (Not sure if that's true, but that's what the Koreans were telling us!)
After the zipline, we had a little picnic with some more Korean food, Makgeolli, and Jessica and I snuck some soju into our lemonade)
The bus ride home was interesting to say the least. There was karaoke, beer, soju, and MORE Makgeolli. Everyone, even our 80 year old landlords, had a great time. We are so glad we got to go on this trip and cannot wait for the next one! They are currently planning a camping trip to the beach!
As you can see, Mrs. So knows how to party! (She hadn't even been drinking!)
